Overview
Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is reportedly a research-based approach to understanding and addressing challenging behaviors in individuals with disabilities, mental health conditions, or other complex needs. According to some sources, PBS has been effective in reducing problem behaviors in individuals with autism spectrum disorder. The approach has also influenced the development of other approaches, such as trauma-informed care and person-centered planning. The Association for Positive Behavior Support has developed resources and tools to support the implementation of PBS.
